?The future of the Labour Party

Labour has given up Scotland to the SNP and does not field candidates in Northern Ireland.

Together Scotland and Northern Ireland account for 77 seats.

Labour are only trying to compete in England and Wales.

There are 573 seats in England and Wales.

Labour have 202 seats at the moment.

A parliamentary majority of only one requires 326 seats.

That means that they have to win 124 additional seats in England and Wales.

At the moment this seems “ambitious”.

Maybe Sir John Curtice could enlighten us.
