?The future of the Labour Party

The FBU appears highly politicised, and *very* Left—they were ‘woke’ before woke was even a thing. Their magazine (free) is here: https://www.fbu.org.uk/publication-type/firefighter-magazine
E.g. current issue has articles on ‘FBU Sectional Schools’ one for ‘black and ethnic minority members’ and another for ‘LGBT+’ (seems even firefighters require ‘safe spaces’).
E.g. from October/November 2019 issue: ‘featured is an account from an FBU official who with colleagues joined with Care 4 Calais volunteers, in a solidarity visit to refugees in northern France.’ Also in issue: ‘Hate versus hope – the threat of right-wing nationalism’.

This is not a new direction; earliest issue online is July 2000, which includes an article about the decline of car manufacturing (quote: ‘the oppression of all those Tory years’), a recommendation for a book by ‘Communist John Golland … a “good read” …’, an article about a Brazilian Marxist group ‘Landless Movement’ with the slogan ‘Occupy! Resist! Produce!’ and an article opposing Clause 28 prohibiting the promotion of LGBT-matters to minors (so when you read about ‘Drag Queen Story Hours’, be sure to thank the FBU; btw, author presumes to give the Marxist interpretation of a Bible he’s obviously never read, and also writes: ‘They are trying to say that the Bible states that homosexuality is wrong and degrading. When did Jesus Christ say that?’ Rom. 1:27 & 1 Cor. 6:9 to start with). Firefighter magazine We use cookies on this website to analyse the use of our website.
