    He brings up the counterpoint to the immigration argument in the form of France and whilst I agree with a majority of his points, I have to respectfully disagree here. France has less than half of the UK’s population density and if you compared England to France it becomes a 3.5:1 ratio. Despite this, he correctly points out that we still have room to build more housing, but with such high population density already does he not think that people simply don’t want to exacerbate the situation?

    It seems to me like a lot could be solved by decentralising the job market in this country. I once pushed the idea to an economist of linking regional unemployment to corporate tax reductions as an incentive to bring jobs to less economically serviced areas, this idea wasn’t well-liked, but damn it I’m still going to push it.
