US energy independence could well unleash more chaos than it was designed to stop. The Middle east could collapse into financial ruin and nuclear conflict in the next ten years in my opinion.

Initial calculations about different reserves seems to have been understated now that we have discovered new oil shale and can dig deeper into the ocean floor. The days of sticking a straw in the ground and striking oil are numbered but supply will find a way to come through in quantities that keep the price low for the immediate future.
